Founder

Hello, I am Kanchana Madwantha, founder of Ceylon Craft Company. I want to give the creator a good commercial value for the traditional works of Sri Lanka. Because for a long time, they had not received the real value of the creations they had spent their hard work on. As the industry collapsed, no one tried to build a future with handicrafts. Meanwhile, I launched this operation. My only aim is to take the people of Sri Lanka to the creative world. This is part of an effort to do so.

We do this not only by promoting what they produce but also by offering them ideas and designs to innovate and produce relevant craft items that appeal to shifting tastes. modern preferences, to help them find wider markets.

Craft conservation as a collective effort

Helping A major concern facing the sector nationwide is making sure that craft can continue to provide artisans and their future generations with a sustainable, viable source of income. Beautiful rural craft is not widely available in big marketplaces and shops. Instead, it is restricted to small-town sales and sporadic displays in larger cities. Many craftspeople are still having trouble making a living. The ability of these artists to reach new markets and produce cutting-edge, modern goods that start a cycle of recurring orders and purchases is perhaps the most significant goal we aim to accomplish for them. As a result, craft would become a viable employment alternative for the younger generations in these artist settlements.
